Simone Farrow, Ed Hardy Bikini Model, Arrested For Heading International Drug Ring
Simone Farrow, an international swimsuit model accused of being the mastermind of a worldwide drug ring run out of a Hollywood apartment, has been arrested.
Farrow got popped in her native Australia after skipping bail last month.

Simone Farrow was first arrested in 2009 after flying to Australia as the DEA was raiding her Sunset Blvd. apartment, allegedly seizing drugs and documents.
After having a friend post her $150,000 bond in February, Farrow skipped bail. Police in Australia finally caught up with her last week at a Queensland hotel.
Under the stage name Simone Starr, Farrow was a bikini model, pin-up girl and even a Penthouse "pet," making FHM's Sexiest Women In The World list three times.
Farrow was also promoting herself as a singer/songwriter, and on her website, as a would-be reality show star ... hey, why leave any opportunity on the table?
Authorities say behind that high-fashion facade, Farrow was leading a double life trafficking high-grade crystal meth, hiding them in shipments of bath salts.
"It's not uncommon in the modeling and entertainment industry," former special agent Brad Garrett, who is not involved directly in the case, told ABC News.
"If your skill set doesn't take you any place else, where's it going to take you? A quick buck would be distributing methamphetamine. It tells me that she was not that sophisticated, and she may have been desperate for money."
Investigators are saying that Simone Farrow was the brains behind the "ongoing criminal enterprise," which they purport involved at least seven people.
One of the members of the alleged drug syndicate committed suicide in a Hollywood motel after being contacted by officials, the Sunday Telegraph reported.

WASHINGTON (AP) ? Earth's lost frontier is about to be explored firsthand after more than half a century. It's a mission to the deepest part of the ocean, so deep that the pressure is the equivalent of three SUVs sitting on your toe.
And it's being launched by the rich and famous.
In the next several days, James Cameron, the director of "Titanic," ''Avatar" and "The Abyss," plans to dive nearly seven miles down in a one-man lime green submarine that he helped design. The location is the Mariana Trench in the western Pacific.
Airline and telecom entrepreneur Richard Branson is not far behind. And former Google CEO Eric Schmidt is funding another deep water submarine project that's still on the drawing boards.
More people have been to the moon than to this place beneath the sea roughly 200 miles southwest of Guam.
Only two people, Swiss engineer Jacques Piccard and U.S. Navy Capt. Don Walsh, have been to this underwater valley. And they spent only 20 minutes there. Their sub kicked up so much of the sea floor that all they could see out the window was a murky fog.
That dive was in 1960 and no one has been back since. Unmanned subs have ventured that deep, but there's a difference between seeing something remotely on a computer monitor and being there, seeing it up close.
"It's the last frontier for science and exploration on this planet," Cameron said in a ship-to-shore interview with The Associated Press. "It's to draw public attention to the oceans and continued need for exploration as well as stewardship. It would be a good thing if we understand the oceans before we destroy the life that's in them."
Cameron plans to spend at least six hours on the bottom in his cramped, almost form-fitting sub, Deepsea Challenger. He plans to film an undersea documentary with his partner National Geographic, including 3D footage.
Craig McLean, chief of research for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, calls Cameron a hero.
"This is an awakening for the public on how little we know about our planet," McLean said. "We don't have to look up in the sky to find what's out there. We've got it in our oceans."
Andy Bowen, director of the deep sea sub lab at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, remotely guided the unmanned Nereus to the same sea floor for 13 hours in 2009. He describes the pitch dark, icy cold place as "the most hostile, most remote environment on the face of the planet."
McLean said the 16,500 pounds-per-square inch pressure isn't bone-crushing, "it's obliterating." Cameron said if there were a leak, the pressure would crush him so fast he couldn't even cry out.
But getting to that dangerous place, Bowen said, "is frankly intoxicating."
Cameron already feels the majesty and he hasn't been quite that deep yet. Last week, on a test dive for his 12-ton, 25-foot vertical sub, Cameron went to a different trench 5.1 miles down. That set a record for the deepest solo sub dive and Cameron was mesmerized by deep sea anemones that looked like hanging gardens, tube worms and jellyfish that would pulse by.
There was a moment when Cameron was photographing a jellyfish that swam right in front of his viewport, backlit by special lighting techniques.
"I just saw this very ancient and very simple animal," Cameron recalled. "The thought that popped through my head was that God must have been proud the day that he created the jellyfish."
And, Cameron added, he's an atheist.
Cameron's plan for the deeper dive depends on calm weather and pinpoint timing to conserve battery life. In 1960, Walsh and Piccard took nearly five hours to reach the bottom.
Cameron said his plan "is to scream to the bottom as fast as possible, then work at the bottom with all lights blazing." His descent in the dark, slightly-above-freezing water will only take 90 minutes and technically there's enough life support for a 56-hour dive. Cameron won't say how much the expedition costs.

"Basically it's our planetary life support system at stake," she said, "and we're treating it as a supermarket and sewer at the same time."

New UN-backed emissions reduction scheme helps poorer nations use clean energy
Rural households in developing countries will soon be able to swap kerosene lamps and diesel generators for clean renewable energy thanks to a financial incentive provided under the emissions reduction mechanism of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), it was reported ion Tuesday.
The Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and an emissions baseline and monitoring methodology approved by the CDM executive board will enable registered projects to earn saleable credits when they reduce greenhouse gas emissions and contribute to sustainable development, the Convention's Secretariat said in a press release.
The CDM allows emission-reduction projects in developing countries to earn certified emission reduction (CER) credits, each equivalent to one tonne of carbon dioxide. These CERs can be traded and sold, and used by industrialized countries to a meet a part of their emission reduction targets under the Kyoto Protocol - an addition to the UNFCCC that contains legally binding measures to reduce emissions, the UN News Centre reports.
Under the new CDM arrangement for clean rural electrification, each project must use an approved methodology to determine existing, pre-project emissions and monitor ongoing emissions once the project is up and running.
"This is what the CDM is all about - reducing greenhouse gas emissions and contributing to sustainable development," said CDM Executive Board Chair Maosheng Duan at the close of the Board's 66th meeting.
"It brings market forces to bear on two of the world's most pressing challenges, climate change and development."
The new methodology can be used by projects that install renewable electricity generation technologies, like solar electric panels, in communities with no access to electricity, as long as 75 per cent of the consumers are households.

Timberwolves' Rubio out for season with torn ACL
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) ? Ricky Rubio's sensational rookie season has come to a devastatingly abrupt end.
The Minnesota Timberwolves point guard will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL in his left knee, the team announced on Saturday. Now the upstart Wolves will have to keep chasing a playoff berth without the flashy, fiery leader of the franchise's resurgence.
"It's a big emotional shock," All-Star forward Kevin Love said. "He makes winning plays, he's a winner. We love having him around. On and off the court. We hope for a speedy recovery so he can help this team next year. It's a big loss for us."
It also means that Rubio will miss the upcoming Olympics, where he was expected to be a vital part of Spain's bid for the gold medal.
"All my support to my big friend and teammate (at)rickyrubio9," tweeted Toronto Raptors guard and fellow Spainiard Jose Calderon. "Hard news about his knee. He'll be back stronger."
Rubio went down in the closing seconds of a loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night, when his knee buckled as he tried to help out on defense against Kobe Bryant. An MRI on Saturday confirmed everyone's fears, and there plenty of long faces before the Wolves hosted the New Orleans Hornets.
"It's just too bad," coach Rick Adelman said. "He was having such a great year, he had such a great influence on our team and the way our team was playing and I think the league. It's too bad any time you see a young player go down like that with an injury like that. You feel for him more than anyone else."
A date for surgery has not yet been set, but team president David Kahn said he fully expected Rubio to be back for the start of next season.
"His work ethic knows no bounds," Kahn said. "If ever there was a player that was ticketed to have not just a full recovery but to come back better than ever, stronger, it's Ricky Rubio."
Rubio was not at Target Center on Saturday night, but tweeted several messages of thanks and encouragement for his teammates.
"Thank you everybody for ur support," Rubio tweeted. "I promise I will be back soon and stronger. There is only one way to take: move forward and stay positive."
In his first season after coming from Spain, the 21-year-old was averaging 10.6 points and 8.2 assists, but his impact has been so much greater than his numbers.
The floppy-haired, irrepressible young point guard changed the dynamic of a rebuilding team almost from the moment he set foot in Minnesota. His flashy, unselfish play galvanized his teammates, and his fun-loving nature has been an immediate draw at the box office, where the Timberwolves have already sold out seven games this season, their most since 2006-07.
Chants of "Ole! Ole, ole, ole!" have filled the building, which just last year was half empty almost every night as the Wolves sunk to the bottom of the league.
He's one of the most popular players in a tight-knit locker room and has helped forge chemistry with the team that has paid dividends through the first 41 games this season.
"Everybody feels bad about this," center Nikola Pekovic said. "He is a rookie, a new player, but he's also been the leader in so many ways."
Rubio is averaging 2.2 steals per game and is one of the better help defenders on the perimeter in the league.
Most importantly, Rubio's play has translated to victories. The Timberwolves were eighth in the West, putting them in position to qualify for the playoffs for the first time since 2004, before losing to the Lakers on Friday night to fall a half-game behind Houston.
It wasn't just the Timberwolves and local fans that were taking notice.
"He just has great anticipation defensively," Bryant said. "He reads the floor extremely well, he's extremely patient. He's developing more and more confidence with his jump shot. I don't know what ... they're doing in Spain to develop their individual talent, but they're doing something right."
Several of the game's biggest stars, including Kevin Durant, LeBron James and Chris Paul tweeted well wishes to Rubio on Saturday.
"Ricky Rubio's injury isn't 1 that any basketball fan wanted 2 C," Dwyane Wade tweeted. "He's had an amazing rookie season & has brought life back 2 a franchise."
Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, who is recovering from a torn ACL himself, tweeted a note of encouragement as well.
"Just want to wish Ricky Rubio a quick and healthy return from his ACL injury," Peterson tweeted. "I can't wait to see him return."
Guard J.J. Barea is also injured, with a sprained left ankle keeping him out of the last two games. That means Luke Ridnour, who has been starting at shooting guard with Rubio at the point, is the only player with experience playing the point guard on the roster.
The Wolves called up second-round draft pick Malcolm Lee from the D-League on Friday, but he has yet to play in a game in his rookie season because of a knee injury.
Kahn said the team was assessing its options in advance of the March 15 trade deadline, but wanted to see how Lee played before making any decisions.
The immediate challenge is not letting the injury deflate the significant progress the team has made.
"We are still in the thick of things," Kahn said. "I'm very optimistic based on the competitiveness of the team, which is seen almost nightly, that we'll continue to be competitive night after night after night."
Minnesota is preparing to embark on a demanding two-week road trip that starts Monday and could define its season.
"We're still in it," Adelman said. "I don't see any reason to back away from that. There's no reason we can't win games."

I still find myself thinking, ?I do, but I don?t, want to talk about it.? Sometimes I am afraid to rock the boat. Afraid to be misunderstood ? to create an argument when it isn?t intended. To hurt feelings when I only want to be kind.
But as practice makes? better partners? we are getting the hang of it. We now?joke about past blunders in the communication game. Not that there aren?t many more to come.

The IAAF announced the initial 12 names for induction into the Hall of Fame Thursday while the remaining 12 names will be announced at some point before the official induction ceremony, which is scheduled for November 24, 2012, at the IAAF Centenary Gala in Barcelona.
A ?Who?s Who in American track and field?, Owens, Lewis, Oerter, Moses and Joyner-Kersee are all members of the USA Track & Field National Hall of Fame. Along with the announcement, the IAAF states the strict criteria for induction, which says athletes must have won at least two Olympic or World Championships gold medals and have set at least one world record. Athletes also need to be retired from the sport for 10 years.
?As part of the celebrations to mark the centennial year of the International Association of Athletics Federations, the IAAF is proud to announce the inauguration of the IAAF Hall of Fame in 2012,? President Diack said. ?The creation of the IAAF Hall of Fame which has long been a vision of the sport?s world governing body is an excellent way not only to honor the lifetime achievements of our greatest athletes, but also heighten public awareness of our sport and its rich history.?
Jackie Joyner-Kersee
One of the most famous American athletes of all time, Jackie Joyner-Kersee was voted the Greatest Female Athlete of the 20th Century by Sports Illustrated. In her time as a multi-event athlete, Joyner-Kersee won three Olympic gold medals and four World Outdoor Championships gold medals. She established the world record four times in the heptathlon and did so once in the long jump. From 1985 until 1991 Joyner-Kersee won 12 consecutive heptathlon competitions.

ISTANBUL, TURKEY ? Reigning World Indoor gold medalist Bernard Lagat, 2011 World Outdoor champions Christian Taylor and Jesse Williams (Broughton HS, Raleigh, NC 2002; North Carolina State 2003; Southern California 2006)and world heptathlon record holder Ashton Eaton lead a deep Team USA men?s field into the 2012 IAAF World Indoor Track & Field Championships. Competition begins Friday and runs through Sunday from the Atakoy Athletic Arena.
Lagat has been vocal all season on his goals to defend his World Indoor title in the 3,000-meters and will be in search of his third World Indoor title in the event after also winning the gold in 2004. Lagat is coming off a win in the event at the USA Indoor Championships along with establishing an American record in the 5,000m earlier in the year at the Millrose Games. He will face strong competition from Great Britain?s Mo Farah as well as 2012 USA Indoor runner-up Lopez Lomong.
Taylor burst onto the international scene with his World Outdoor Championships gold medal in the triple jump and will be given his first chance for another medal on the international scene since Daegu. Taylor teams with Will Claye to give Team USA a good chance at a pair of triple jump medals. Claye won the USA Indoor title in the event and owns the top two jumps in the world this year. Claye will also compete in the long jump where he owns the second best mark in the world this indoor season.
After winning a World Championships gold medal, a Diamond League title and USA Track & Field?s Jesse Owens award in 2011, Williams hopes for more big things in 2012. The two-time USA Indoor and Outdoor champion owns a season best of 2.32m/7-7.25, which currently puts him sixth best in the world.
No one in the history of track and field has performed better in the heptathlon than Eaton. He set the world record mark of 6,568 points in 2010. Eaton also won a silver medal in the decathlon at the 2011 World Outdoor Championships. This is Eaton?s first full heptathlon this indoor season.
Trell Kimmons and Justin Gatlin battled to a close finish at the USA Indoor Championships. Kimmons? winning time of 6.45 and Gatlin?s runner-up time of 6.47 are currently the two fastest times in the world this year and give Team USA an excellent shot at a pair of World Indoor medals.
There has long been an American presence in the shot put at the international level, and the 2012 World Indoor Championships will be no different. 2006 World Indoor gold medalist Reese Hoffa and 2011 USA Indoor runner-up Ryan Whiting currently own the top two spots in the world in 2012. Hoffa has also won two World Indoor silver medals in his career.
Brad Walker understands how to perform on the world stage. The American outdoor pole vault record holder and 2006 World Indoor gold medalist will be in search of his fifth World Championships medal. His season best of 5.86m/19-2.75 currently sits fifth in the world as Walker will be joined by Scott Roth, who placed second at the 2012 USA Indoor championships.
Aries Merritt and Kevin Craddock (James Logan HS, Union City 2005; UCLA 2009), the 2003 and 2004 CIF State Meet 100 hurdles champion,battled through a loaded field at the USA Indoor Championships to represent Team USA at the World Indoor Championships in the 60m hurdles. Merrit, who claimed the U.S. indoor title, owns the third fastest time in the world this year and Craddock, the runner-up, currently sits fourth.
Matthew Centrowitz and Galen Rupp lead the middle-distance fields in the 1,500m while Michael Rutt and Tevan Everett will represent Team USA in the 800m. Centrowitz placed second at the USA Indoor Championships in the event along with winning a bronze medal at the 2011 World Outdoor Championships. The American outdoor 10,000m record holder, Rupp was recently crowned as the men?s indoor Visa Championships series winner. Rutt placed second at the 2012 USA Indoor Championships.
Gil Roberts and Calvin Smith will lead a group of sprinters in the 400m and the 4x400m relay. Roberts and Smith finished first and second, respectively, at the USA Indoor Championships and currently have the second and sixth fastest times in the world. They will be joined by Frankie Wright, Manteo Mitchell, Quentin Iglehart-Summers and Jamaal Torrance in assembling teams for both the preliminary round and the final of the 4x400m.
