Romney in NYC while rivals focus on Iowa, NH (AP)

Republican presidential candidates are campaigning in Iowa and New Hampshire on Wednesday with one exception ? Mitt Romney, who is traveling east to headline four fundraisers in New York City.

Rick Perry is camping out in Iowa. He begins a bus tour of the state on Wednesday, with a town hall meeting planned in Council Bluffs and appearances in the towns of Harland and Denison.

The Texas governor is scheduled to campaign in Iowa daily ? except for a break around Christmas ? through the Jan. 3 caucuses.

Also in Iowa, Newt Gingrich is set to discuss brain science research at the University of Iowa.

Rick Santorum is visiting Urbandale, Des Moines and Johnston before returning to Des Moines to attend a Christmas party at his campaign headquarters there.

Ron Paul has scheduled stops in the New Hampshire towns of Amherst, Hillsborough and Derry.

In Iowa on Wednesday evening, Michele Bachmann joins Gingrich, Perry and Santorum for a screening of an anti-abortion documentary featuring former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, a 2008 GOP presidential candidate.
