Own the 4th-largest chunk of Moon rock for $380,000

If you've got the cash, this Moon rock is begging to be bought

Ah, the moon. Our nearest celestial neighbor that makes an appearance in the night sky to remind us that our spinning blue orb isn't alone as we hurtle through space. But if you want to get a bit more personal with Earth's one and only natural satellite, perhaps owning a chunk of the giant, barren rock would make you feel better? If you have a cool $380,000, now's your chance.

A meteorite chunk called Dar al Gani 1058 believed to be composed of moon rock is now up for grabs. The hefty chunk of space debris is officially the 4th largest piece of the moon that resides here on Earth, and is thought to have been blown off the lunar surface after multiple asteroid impacts jarred it loose.

The rock is currently in the possession of an anonymous collector and will soon be auctioned off. A figure of up to $380,000 is expected to be the final bid, meaning it's likely to be snapped up by a high-profile museum ? but nothing is stopping a private Moon lover from swooping in with some serious cash. As of this writing, the rock's price stands at $170,000, and bidding will officially end on October 13.
